The girls varsity volleyball team is having one of the best, if not the best, seasons in their history. The team has shown great improvement after an inconsistent previous year.  They finished the regular season in second place in their ISL division, just behind Sidwell. They finished with an impressive 5-1 record in the division. The girls are looking to be co-champions by winning the ISL tournament. It would be the first time in 20 years that they have done that.

The team this year is composed of five seniors, who have led the way to a strong season. While the volleyball team has great senior leadership, it also has underclassman that have contributed. With two sophomores and a freshman on the varsity team, the future of the girls looks bright. Junior setting sensation Gracie Ashworth said, “we are a younger team this year. The younger players have helped the team a lot this year. All three start and play a lot.” She also said that the team has, “a lot more talent this year.” With new additions to the team and everyone improving, there is a lot of talent on the team. The teamwork this year has also helped a lot. Junior Amelia Hessen said, “the team is far more cohesive this year, which has helped us a lot.”

The girls will enter the tournament highly seeded and on a roll. When asked if they will win the tournament, Gracie said, “We have a really good chance. At least a 50% chance to win the tournament. When we played Sidwell we played bad. We can definitely beat them.” With great leadership, teamwork, and lots of talent, the the girls look strong going into the playoffs looking to be co-champions.
