Here are two holiday treat recipes that can be the perfect end to any meal!
Caramel Squares
2 cups brown sugar 1 C. flour
½ cup melted butter 1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs ½ tsp. salt
1½ tsp. vanilla ½ C. chopped nuts
Mix all ingredients with mixer. Bake in greased and floured 9×13 pan for 20 minutes at 375. Let cool. Dust with confectioners sugar and cut into squares.
Roll- Out Sugar Cookies
1½ C. confectioners sugar ½ tsp. almond flavoring
1 C. butter or margarine softened 2½ C. flour
1 egg 1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cream of tartar
Cream sugar and butter. Mix in egg and flavorings. Stir dry ingredients together; blend into sugar mixture. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours. (If left overnight, let it warm up just enough to handle before using.) Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out dough, about half at a time, and cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Bake about 10 to 12 minutes. Frost with buttercream frosting.
