The competition was fierce! Here is a rundown of each tent.
The Freshmen gave it their all, but their lack of experience combined with last-minute planning landed them in last place. Their tent included a huge amount of participation, but not a lot of people had active roles. The tent looked good, but there weren’t that many decorations, and part of the red carpet was ripped. They tried to give the judges food, but it wasn’t enough. With more experience, they will be much better next year, and will be a force to be reckoned with.
The Sophomores performed an amazing skit that was so good it rivaled the Seniors’ tent. The tent was creatively decorated, with tables serving as a runway and more tables where the judges and some of the sophomores who acted as judges sat. There was a very high amount of participation, and that was what pushed their tent over the top. They also allowed the judges to decide who won the pageant, which was a very creative way of incorporating the judges. Through all their hard work and effort, the sophomores snagged second place, and they will be a frontrunner next year.
The Juniors gave a very good effort at the Kids Choice awards but ended in 3rd place. The opening skit with Dora was entertaining and pleased the crowd, the decorations were great, and the live band was a nice touch, but a huge flaw in the skit was the lack of participation. The skit only included about 15 people and right after the Sophomore skit, which included a large number of people in their grade. This ended up being a huge loss of points. Overall, the skit was not bad but the lack of participation hurt them greatly. Next year, they better step up to the high standards that the Seniors set!
The Seniors, without a surprise to anyone, have done it again. They managed to snatch up the win using many props, including golf carts, red ropes, and red carpets. The skit itself was not the most creative due to the lip sinking and silly dancing but the costumes, tech, and props were able to pull the Seniors to the top again. The class participation was high, which always, is a plus. They accomplished this by having cheering fans, many artists, and body guards. Although some of the judges were sitting at difficult angles for viewing, the Seniors still did what they had to and won. Congrats Seniors!
