Although there were some rough patches at the beginning of the season, boys JV soccer finished the season strong. Coming off a 6-0 loss versus GDS, Coach Ian Kelleher and Coach Boyd Reilly gave a motivational pep talk and the boys became motivated to turn the season around. The boys were looking for redemption against St. James. The game was highly competitive and the JV Soccer team put in their best effort of the season. Although they tied 0-0, the boys JV soccer team came out looking like winners.

The next two games didn’t go as planned as the JV soccer team lost both of the games. This did not hinder the motivation of the boys. Their next game versus Sidwell was a tough one as the team struggled to score, but they played their hardest to the end.

The boys finished the season strong versus Potomac in the last game of the season. The team scored two goals to start off the game. Unfortunately the weather didn’t permit finishing the game, and Potomac scored 5 goals. Although the boys lost, they still took it as a victory and walked away with their heads high. Although their record didn’t show it and the boys didn’t get any wins, they outplayed many teams throughout the season.

The boys fought through a lot during the season as 2 key players Marcus Shaffner and Jonah Scher were injured and the team. Overall, the boys fought through these setbacks and persevered through the whole season. The season was filled with fun moments that they and their coaches can be proud of.
